PATRICK BOLEN BIOGRAPHY
Patrick Bolen is a native Los Angeles multi-instrumentalist, primarily on electric and acoustic guitars, lead and background vocals, flute, pedal steel guitar, mandolin, bass, keyboards and harmonica. He has played and recorded with such name acts as Vince Gill, Pure Prairie League, Kim Carnes, and Robert John, and has done hundreds of recording sessions for many others. As a member of Pure Prairie League, with Vince Gill, he had three songs on their 1979 album, “Can’t Hold Back”, doing lead vocals on “Livin’ it Alone” from that album. Extensive touring of the country followed that album, with Pure Prairie League playing many dates with the Charlie Daniels Band, the Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker Band, Poco, and Dixie Dregs. He has also played with many other established rock and roll/ dance bands as well as many country bands in Los Angeles and Orange County. Currently, during the day he does many recording sessions at his own studio as well as at other studios throughout L.A. and the San Fernando Valley, and has produced hundreds of songs by various artists. Recently, he played the background lead guitar and harmonica on many TV award shows, such as the Teen Choice Awards, The Billboard Awards, The Red Cross Awards, as well as on a recent Britney Spears special and on the Miss America Pageant. His latest studio production is his son’s band, ‘A Cursive Memory’, who have received a lot of recognition, and have recently become candidates for their own reality TV series.
